Description
A row of four estate workers' cottages located at 10-16 Burnt Oak Lane, Sidcup, built in 1874. The cottages are constructed of brown brick with a plain tile roof extending to overhead eaves. They are arranged symmetrically, with each house being two bays wide, including the entrance. Each pair of houses features a large gabled decorative timber porch. The windows are square-headed, set in low pointed reveals with prominent keystones, and contain small panes separated by glazing bars. Planked doors provide access. A central gable displays a date stone positioned above the inner bays of the inside panes. The gables are adorned with decorative bargeboards. The cottages are noted as a well-preserved example of estate workers' housing, with relatively little alteration since their construction.
