Description

The tomb of John Jones, who died in 1726, is located in the churchyard of St Mary's Church in Hendon. It is made of white marble with a brick inner core. The tomb features a tall square pedestal that stands on a raised base, topped with a stepped over above the cornice; however, the finial is missing. The north, east, and south sides have fielded panels, although the panel on the north side was detached at the time of inspection. The west side displays a carved heraldic achievement. This tomb is included for its group value with St Mary's Church and other 18th-century tombs in the churchyard.
