Description
These cottages, numbered 2 to 8 Meadway Gate, were built around 1910 to designs by Edwin Luytens, as part of the Hampstead Garden Suburb. The end cottages have unpainted pebbledash walls, while the central cottages are painted. They feature hipped tile roofs, with a pair of gable-facing ranges in the centre. Original leaded casement windows and doors remain. The cottages are identical in design to the properties at numbers 1 to 7 Meadway Gate (listed separately) and together they form one half of a pair of gateway buildings, marking the entrance to the Suburb from Hoop Lane.
