Description

Nos 1-7 Cleveland Square are a group of mid-19th century terraced houses. They are constructed of stucco with a slate roof and have three storeys, an attic, and a basement. The houses are arranged with three windows each, and are more widely spaced to Nos 1-3. They form a convex curve into Chilworth Street to the east. Each house has a projecting Doric porch with solid sides, semi-circular windows to either side, and a panelled, studded door facing forward. The ground floor windows are architraved, while the first floor windows have pediments with flanking fluted Corinthian half columns. The second floor windows are corniced. The windows are sash windows with plate glass, and French casements to the first floor. A dentil cornice sits above the third floor, and a smaller dentil cornice above the attic. There are cast iron window guards and area balustrades.
