Description
Nos 186 to 188 on Queen's Gate, built around 1860, are a row of grand houses made of stucco with slate roofs. The houses are distinguished by rusticated quoins and stand four storeys high, with an attic mansard and a basement. Each house features three windows across its front. The ground floor has channelling and projecting rusticated Doric porches, along with canted bay windows. The windows throughout are square-headed sash and casement types with plate glass. Houses 186 and 188 have central windows on the second floor, flanked by Corinthian half columns. A rich modillion cornice adorns the top, with arched attic windows and a subsidiary cornice and balustrade at the parapet. Dormers with pediments complete the design.
