Description

The Royal College of Organists is a college building constructed in 1895, designed by Lieutenant H H Cole of the Royal Engineers. It features a stucco exterior with inset panels of coloured "Sgraffito" decoration by F W Moody. The building has four storeys and is organized into three main bays. The central entrance is located within a canted bay that rises the full height of the building, with oriel windows on either side extending to the second and third storeys. The windows are mullion and transom style, incorporating the "Ipswich Motif" and made of plate glass. The eaves are adorned with a bracketed cornice and railings, and there is a return to the right that has a similar architectural treatment.
