Description
The Memorial of the 1851 Exhibition, built in 1863, is located on the north side of Prince Consort Road in the City of Westminster. Designed by sculptor Joseph Durham, it features a standing bronze statue of Prince Albert on a circular pedestal made of polished granite. Surrounding the pedestal are four pairs of Corinthian columns. At each corner of the base, there are four seated bronze figures with plaques beneath them. To the north, there is Portland stone balustrading, with steps and additional balustrading on the east and west sides, topped by a pair of lamp standards.
