Description
The presbytery of the Roman Catholic Church of St Peter and St Edward was built in 1880 by architect J F Bentley. It is constructed of yellow brick with red dressings and features a slate pitched roof. The building has an irregular elevation facing Palace Street, rising between two to three storeys. The left side has three bays that are advanced, while the right side has recessed bays with an advanced entrance. The design reflects a Victorian eclectic style with influences from the Queen Anne period. The left bays feature a prominent stack situated between the windows. The windows are segmental headed, with some being sashed and others having timber mullions, transoms, and leaded lights. The right side includes a canted bay on the upper storey with sashes set in segmental reveals. A brick cornice adorns the left part of the building. The interior has not been inspected.
