Description
No 16 Stratford Place is a terrace house built in 1774 by Richard Edwin. It is constructed of brown brick with stucco dressings and features a slate roof. The design is similar to No 7. The building has three storeys, a basement, and a dormered mansard roof, with three windows across the front. The ground floor is rusticated, with an impost string that connects the semicircular arched windows and the doorway. The upper floors have glazing bar sashes, which are highlighted by a giant order of Ionic pilasters, a stucco entablature, and a balustraded parapet. There are plat bands and sill courses, as well as wrought iron area railings. This house is part of a symmetrical design that balances the opposite side of the cul-de-sac leading to Stratford House.
