Description
Number 23 Great Pulteney Street is a Grade II listed terrace house built around 1722-23, with some alterations. The building is faced with stucco and has a slate roof. It stands four storeys tall, plus a basement, and features three windows across its front. On the left side, there is a rusticated arched doorway adorned with a lion's head keystone. The windows are revealed sash types without glazing bars and have flat arches above them. A sill band runs along the first floor, and there is a parapet with coping at the top. The property is also complemented by cast iron area railings, likely from around 1800, which have urn finials on the standards. Inside, the entrance corridor retains original fielded panelling, along with what are probably later 18th-century Ionic pilasters. The stairwell is panelled, featuring cut string stairs with balusters that date to around 1800.
