Description

This is an early to mid-19th century terrace of six houses, numbers 6 to 12 St John’s Wood Road, located in London. The buildings are constructed of brown brick with a stucco ground floor and decorative stucco dressings. They rise to three storeys above a basement. Each house has two bays. Steps lead to the front doors, which are set within pilaster surrounds with jamb details and overlights. The first floor features a three-window band with sash windows and glazing bars, also framed by pilasters. A balustraded balcony is present on the first floor. The sashes on the first floor are set within pilaster surrounds and cornices; those above bowed fronts are tripartite. The second floor has sashes, with further tripartite sashes above a decorative band. A cornice runs along the top of the building. A railed basement provides a visual boundary to the street.
