Description

A terrace of houses at 2-22 Queen's Grove, dating from approximately 1830 to 1840, built as part of the Eyre Estate development. The houses are constructed of stock brick, with a channelled stucco finish to the ground floor and stucco dressings. They have slate roofs. The terrace is arranged with dressed brick and features party wall Ionic pilasters, with Nos 2, 3, and 11 to 14 slightly advanced as pavilions and centrepieces. The houses are three storeys high and include a basement. Each house has a two-window front. Plain, pilastered doorways are approached by steps on the left-hand side. The upper floor windows are recessed sash windows within architraves, with console cornices on the first floor. The ground floor sashes of Nos 2 to 14 are tripartite. A plat band runs over the ground floor, from which a pilaster order rises to a damaged entablature, topped with a panelled parapet that lacks its inset balustrade. Cast iron window guards are present on the first floor.
