Description
No. 25 Upper Wimpole Street is a terraced town house built around 1780-1790, likely designed by John White for the Portland Estate. The building is constructed of stock brick with a channelled stucco ground floor and features a slate roof. It has four storeys and a basement, with a three-window wide front that lacks ornamentation. To the left, there is a broad semicircular arched doorway with a panelled door, sidelights, a fluted doorhead, and an overall fanlight. The upper floors have recessed sash windows set under flat gauged arches. There is a plat band above the ground floor and a sill band on the second floor, with a parapet that has coping. A cast iron balcony with a geometric pattern spans the first floor, and the area railings are made of cast iron with flambé urn finials. The interior has not been inspected.
