Description

This is a terraced house located on Jermyn Street in Westminster, originally built around 1675, with a largely reconstructed facade from the early 19th century. The building is constructed of brown brick with a slate roof and stands four storeys high, originally two windows wide. The ground floor features a mid-20th century shop front. The upper floors have revealed sash windows lacking glazing bars, each set within a gauged flat arch. A moulded cornice band runs across the second floor, topped by a parapet with coping. The interior has been altered. The house was the residence of Sir Isaac Newton from 1696 to 1700. A section of the rear wall is constructed of 17th-century brick.
