Description

TQ 2980 SW CITY OF WESTMINSTER JERMYN STREET, SWl 81/36 4-10-74 No 89 GV II Terrace house. c. 1675, rebuilt early C19. Stucco faced, slate roof. 4 storeys. 3 windows wide. Ground floor has early C19 shop front with 8 pane thick glazing bar window. Recessed, panelled and glazed door to right, under fascia with bracketed cornice surmounted by coat of arms. Upper floors have revealed sash windows, no glazing bars, in flat architrave surrounds, those on 1st floor with cornices on consoles; those on 2nd floor with triple keystones. The shop has reset interior fittings, shelving etc. from the 1851 Great Exhibition. Large timber framed closet wing to rear. Inside upper floors retain dog leg,closed string, turned baluster stairs.
