Description

TQ 2979 NE CITY OF WESTMINSTER OLD QUEEN STREET, SW1 91/15 (north side) 5.2.70 No 24 G.V. II Terraced town house, later Cl8 rebuLld of c1690-1700 house. Dark brick, slate roof. 4 storeys, basement and dormered mansard. 4-window wide front, symmetrical about central entrance. Fielded panel door in wooden architrave case flanked by fluted pilasters and with consoles carrying enriched cornice-hood. Recessed sash windows under flat gauged arches. 1st floor stuccoed sill band; main stucco or painted stone cornice over 2nd floor and stucco cornice and blocking course to attic storey. Cast iron area railings with flambe torch finials. Rear elevation to St James's Park plain with 3-window canted bay and coped parapet; recessed glazing bar sashes; 1st floor geometric patterned cast iron balcony. Survev of London; Vol X
