Description
No. 43 Old Queen Street is an end-of-terrace townhouse with a shop, rebuilt in the early 19th century. It is constructed of yellow stock brick and has a slate roof. The building stands three storeys tall with a dormered mansard roof and features a three-window-wide front that follows the curve of the corner. The ground floor has a mid to late 19th-century shop front, which includes a panelled and glazed door and large glazing bar windows framed by panelled stucco pilasters and an entablature-fascia with scroll brackets. The second floor has recessed sashes with intact glazing bars, set under flat gauged arches. The building has a parapet with coping and original dormers, one of which retains Yorkshire casements. It is included for its group value due to its prominent location at the junction of Old Queen Street and Queen Anne's Gate.
