Description
Abbey Buildings is an office and chambers building constructed around 1860-1870 by Sir George Gilbert Scott. It is designed in the Flemish Renaissance style and features red brick with a painted ground floor and a slate roof. The building has four storeys and an attic, topped with a pediment gable. It is three windows wide, with the ground floor showcasing three segmental arched openings; the outer openings contain doorways that are adorned with scrolled pediments on brackets. The upper floors have recessed sash windows, each flanked by short pilasters. The pediment gable is divided into three sections, with attic windows that are flanked by terracotta panels.
