Description
A pair of terrace houses located on John Adam Street in the City of Westminster, dating approximately to 1677, with alterations made in the early 19th century. Number 29 was rebuilt to match number 27 during this period. The houses are constructed of brown brick, with the ground floor stuccoed. They are four storeys high, with basements. Each house has three windows, and doorways are positioned to the right of each facade, featuring panelled doors and patterned fanlights above. Recessed sash windows are found beneath gauged flat arches, with the exception of the first floor, where they are segmental arched. A stone cornice runs above the second floor, and the building is topped with a parapet and coping. Inside number 27, original panelling remains, including a closet wing and a closed string dog leg staircase with turned balusters.
