Description

A terrace of six houses, numbered 1-7 Westbourne Crescent, and including 218 Sussex Gardens, was built around 1840. The houses are constructed of stucco, with a hidden roof. They are four storeys high, with an attic and basement. Each house is two windows wide, except for number 7, which has four windows including a convex bow window. The ground floor is channelled, and features projecting, fluted Doric porches with triglyph friezes extending across the full width of the ground floor. The porches contain panelled doors. A continuous stone balcony runs along the first floor. The windows are square-headed, with architraves above the ground floor and cornices to the first floor. They contain sash windows with plate glass, and French casements to the first floor. The houses at the ends of the terrace have full-height convex bow fronts. A return front is present to the left. Number 7 is integral to the composition of the crescent, alongside number 8.
