Description

This is a late 19th-century terraced house located in Palace Court, City of Westminster. The house is built of red brick, with some rubbed brick detailing, and has a tiled mansard roof. It is designed in the Queen Anne style, with three storeys and an attic within the gable. The building’s facade has an irregular composition, featuring three windows and a smaller, single-window bay to the left. The entrance is on the left side of the main block, framed by a moulded brick architrave, a cut brick keystone, and an arched fanlight. A canted bay window extends from the ground floor on the right side of the building. A timber balustraded balcony is positioned on the first floor. The windows have square heads, with segmental reveals on the ground floor and gauged keystones. A cut brick cornice runs above the second floor. The gable is scrolled and contains an inset, canted oriel window, topped with a corniced split pediment made of cut brick and an oculus at the gable apex. The left-hand bay features a canted oriel window on the first floor, with a brick half dome above. Tall chimneys are a prominent feature.
