Description

This is a row of eight houses, numbered 4 to 24, located on the north side of Gerald Road in the City of Westminster. They were built in the early 19th century and are constructed of stucco. The roofs are mansards, covered in lead, copper, and slate, and are visible on numbers 12, 14, 16, 20, 22, and 24. The houses are three storeys high, with a basement level, and each has two windows. Each house has a round-headed entrance, some with decorative fanlights, and number 24 features a projecting porch. The entrances have panelled doors. A continuous cast iron balcony, featuring an anthemion pattern, runs along the first floor. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars, and some have square heads. A cornice runs above the second floor. Cast iron area railings are also present. The group value lies in their contribution to the architectural character of Gerald Road.
