Description
No. 51 Grosvenor Street is a substantial terrace house built in 1724, with early 19th-century alterations. It features red brick construction with rusticated quoins and a slate roof. The building stands three storeys tall, with a basement and a mansard roof that includes dormers. There are five windows on the facade. The entrance is an asymmetrically placed arched doorway with a fanlight, sheltered by a Tuscan column porch. The windows are revealed sash types with segmental gauged arches, except for the flat arches on the first floor. There are stone plat bands on the first and second floors, along with a moulded stone cornice and parapet. A Victorian cast iron balcony spans the first floor, and heavy Victorian railings enclose the area.
