Description

This is a row of houses on Gloucester Terrace in London, dating from the mid-19th century and subsequently altered. The houses are built of yellow brick with stucco dressings, and the ground floor is channelled stucco. The row is four storeys high, with each house originally two windows wide. The central four houses and the end houses project slightly forward, featuring rusticated quoins. Doric porches project from the facade, grouped in pairs. Each house has a panelled front door. A continuous cast iron balcony runs across the first floor. The windows are square-headed and architraved above the ground floor, with cornices to the first floor. The windows are sash windows with plate glass. The end houses feature a single tripartite window on each floor, with a cornice and pediment. A simplified cornice runs above the third floor. Returns are visible to the left and right. Cast iron area railings are present.
