Description
The stable block located to the northwest of Lock Cottage at Old Ford Lock is a former stable building dating from the early 19th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of brick and features asbestos roofs. The structure consists of two single-storey ranges situated on a sloping site. The lower range has a buttressed southeast corner and two doorways with plain lintels. The taller range includes two similar doorways, a single window with a cambered arch, and a larger later window with a plain lintel positioned between them. The Regent's Canal, built between 1812 and 1820 by James Morgan and supervised by John Nash, adds historical significance to the site. This building is included for its group value.
