Description
St James Vicarage is an unusual house built around the 1840s, constructed of grey brick. It features linked chimney stacks and a gable end that presents a plain brick pediment to the street. There is a string course above the ground floor. The building stands three storeys tall and has two windows, which are sash windows with glazing bars, and are round arched, similar to those of the adjoining church. The ground floor windows alternate with round arched brick recesses, creating a visual effect reminiscent of a Norman arcade. The entrance features a round-headed door. St James Vicarage, along with the Church of St James the Less, railings, gates, and gate piers, form a cohesive group.
