Description

Wargrave House is a house built in 1899 as part of the Boundary Estate, an early London County Council development notable for its advanced design. It is located on the north side of Navarre Street, within the Boundary Estate area. The house is constructed of red brick with a tiled roof and wide eaves soffit. It has four storeys and dormers, rising to five storeys under two gabled sections. These gables feature two-sided canted oriels with stuccoed bases above a ground floor. The building has seventeen windows and a rounded corner, with a section facing Boundary Street incorporating six windows, three of which are beneath the central gable. The Boundary Estate includes a variety of architectural details and its streets radiate from a central raised park at Arnold Circus. The entire estate is designated as a group.
