Description
The King Edward VII Jewish Memorial Drinking Fountain, located opposite the main entrance to the London Hospital on Whitechapel Road, was built in 1911. It is made of white stone and features a tapered central square pillar topped with a bronze angel. The faces of the fountain are adorned with bronze figures of angels and cherubs, as well as a portrait head of King Edward VII in low relief. A plaque on the fountain indicates that it was erected in memory of the King by the Jewish inhabitants of East London. This fountain is part of a group with Nos 255 to 257 (odd).
