Description

This is a terrace of seven houses located in Peckham Rye, built in 1827 with some later rebuilding work. The houses are constructed of yellow brick and feature parapets; the parapet to number 143 is V-shaped, while the one to number 147 has been rebuilt. The terrace is three storeys high with a basement, and numbers 147 to 153 also have dormered slate mansards. Each house has two main bays, with an additional two-storey entrance bay linking the houses in pairs. The doorways all have fanlights, although these have been altered, and fluted pilasters frame the doorway of number 143. The sash windows throughout have gauged brick arches - some of which are now stuccoed. Ground-floor windows are round-arched, while those on the upper floors are flat, with the first-floor windows recessed beneath a stucco springing band (except for number 141, which has been altered). A stucco band runs along the first-floor sills. Number 143 features wrought-iron window guards and handrails. The interiors have not been inspected. Numbers 145 to 153 were additionally listed on 27 September 1972.
