Description

Numbers 28-52 and attached railings form a terrace of 13 houses dating from the early 19th century. The houses are built of yellow brick with stucco dressings. They are grouped under a stucco parapet, which rises as a low pediment over the central, slightly projecting section at numbers 34-40. Each house has two storeys and two windows. Fluted, quadrant pilasters are present on each house except number 28, and there are projecting cornice heads to the doors, which are coupled under stucco parapets, each with a central pediment. The ground floor windows are round-headed, while those on the first floor have gauged, flat brick arches. Windows are sash with glazing bars, although numbers 28, 42, and 46 have Gothic glazing bars to the windows and fanlights. The interior of the houses has not been inspected. The terrace includes cast-iron area railings. The terrace shares group value with the Church of St Peter (Grade I listed), its gates, gate piers, boundary walls and railings (Grade II listed), and with numbers 54, 56, and 58 Liverpool Grove (Grade II listed).
