Description
The statue of George Livesey is located in the garden behind the former Camberwell Library and Livesey Museum. It was created between 1908 and 1914 by the sculptor Frederick William Pomeroy. This life-sized bronze statue depicts George Livesey, who was a pioneer in gas production and storage, in a "waistcoat and trousers" pose. The statue stands on a square stone base that features an inscription and a wreath at the foot of the sculpture. It is considered an excellent work by Pomeroy. The statue was moved to its current location by 2016.
