Description
A pair of semi-detached houses built in the early 19th century, with some alterations to the upper parts. The houses are constructed of amber brick and have a renewed parapet. They are three storeys and have a basement, with two irregular bays; the right-hand bay of number 146 is lower and slightly set back. There is a two-storey and basement, one-bay extension to the left of number 148.
The front doors are round-headed, with the entrance to number 146 in a stucco-lined reveal beneath a pointed scalloped lead canopy, and the entrance to number 148 featuring a prostyle stucco Doric porch with a reeded cornice that continues around the jambs and a decorative fanlight. Windows have flat, gauged-brick arches. Number 148 has sash windows with glazing bars, while number 146 has sash windows with margin lights on the inner bay (the ground floor window in a segmental-arched recess with a stucco band at the spring), and 20th-century casements in the outer bay (the ground floor window round-arched). A first-floor stucco sill band is present. There are blank windows on the axis to all three floors. The interior has not been inspected.
