Description

A terrace of five houses, located at 55-59 Thrale Street, was likely originally of earlier date but was refronted around 1800. The houses are constructed of yellow stock brick and stucco, standing three storeys high with a parapet. Each house has two bays. The windows are revealed sash windows with glazing bars, set within stucco surrounds with gauged brick arches. Number 55 features a round-arched timber door reveal with a reeded cornice head and decorative fanlight, and its ground-floor window has shutters. A stucco sill band runs along the first floor. Numbers 56-59 have six-panelled doors within timber reveals flanked by reeded pilasters that rise to a timber cornice with brackets, reminiscent of a shop front. The interior of the houses has not been inspected.
