Description

62 and 64 Union Street are a pair of terraced houses built around 1835. Number 62 is constructed of brick in Flemish bond, while number 64 has a stucco facade that is scored to imitate ashlar. Both houses have hidden roofs behind parapets and share a stack on the party wall. They are three storeys tall with two windows each, with number 62 being wider than number 64. There are tie plates on the party wall and to number 62.

The mid-19th century shop fronts feature authentic design sashes on number 62, while number 64 has been altered and displays the name "DEVONSHIRE HOUSE" between the first and second floors. All upper-floor windows are flat-arched, with number 62 having gauged brick lintels and number 64 featuring architraves. An entablature with a continuous cornice runs across both houses. The windows are 6x6 sashes of authentic design, some of which have shutters.

Inside, the houses are believed to retain original staircases, fireplaces, shutters, and other joinery details.
