Description
East House is a house that has been converted into offices, dating from around 1800. It is constructed of brown brick with red brick dressings and features a parapet. The building stands three storeys tall with a basement and has five bays. The front of the house is interrupted by narrow recesses on the inner sides of each end bay, while the central bay slightly projects, and the right-hand bay is much narrower than the others.
The central entrance is a round-headed door with a plain architrave and a fanlight above. This door is flanked by small blind round arches and has a brick panel with a moulded cornice above it. The ground-floor sash windows, which have glazing bars, are tripartite with segmental heads, except for the right-hand window, which is round-headed. These windows feature a stucco fan pattern in the tympana and a stucco string at the spring. The first- and second-floor sash windows also have glazing bars and are topped with gauged flat brick arches. The central first-floor bay is set within a round-arched recess and has a stucco string at the spring and a sill band. The interior has not been inspected.
