Description
The columbarium at the City of London Cemetery, formerly catacombs, is a Grade II listed building, likely designed by William Haywood. It is constructed from ragstone and ashlar and features a crescent-shaped, single-storey design in the Gothic style. The central section has a three-bay protruding arcade, with the middle arch being richly cusped. Inside, there is an ashlar ribbed nave, and on either side, there is double arched blind arcading. The building has a solid parapet and pointed doorways at both ends. Original openwork iron doors are located at the center and sides, complemented by punched quatrefoil staircases at the ends.
