Description
In front of Holly-Hedge House on Wat Tyler Road, there is an early 19th-century stone carving of the front end of a lion. This heroic-sized sculpture shows traces of polychrome paint. The lion is depicted holding a tablet inscribed with "NELSON CXXII BATTLES" and is positioned on a vermiculate square plinth.
