Description
No. 5 Dartmouth Grove is a house dating from around 1630, with some alterations. It stands three storeys tall and features three windows on the front, all set within a shallow, canted bay that covers most of the façade. There is a one-storey extension on the left side. The building is constructed of multicoloured stock brick and has a stone-coped parapet along with a band at the second floor. The replaced sash windows have moulded architraves, with the ground floor windows featuring a swell frieze and cornice. The former entrance on the left is round-arched, with an architrave supported by battered pilasters, vermiculate spandrels, a cornice, and a pediment, all finished in stucco. This door has been replaced by a window, and the entrance is now located on a blind return. The east garden front mirrors the style of the main façade, with five windows, three of which are in a central canted bay. The interior includes materials from the late 18th century.
