Description

This is a late 18th or early 19th century post office building. It is two storeys high with two windows on the front elevation. The building is constructed of painted brick and has a parapet that hides the roof. The ground floor features a restored shop front in keeping with the building's character. To the west, an irregular three-window return elevation includes a square oriel shop window on the left. The windows are recessed sash windows with glazing bars, set beneath near-flat, gauged brick arches. The main entrance is a six-panel door with a reeded cornice head and a rectangular fanlight. A one-storey, one-window extension is located to the right. The building has been a shop for 170 years. Nos. 18 to 22 form a group.
