Description
No. 56 Burnt Ash Road is a house built around 1840-1850 in the Italianate style. It is constructed of stock brick and features a hipped slate roof with end brick chimney-stacks. The house is two storeys high and has three windows. The first floor includes cambered 12-pane sash windows with horns set in reveals, topped with brick voussoirs. The ground floor has cambered moulded architraves surrounding 12-pane sashes with horns. The central doorway is framed by a cornice and pilasters, with lamp brackets and a rectangular fanlight above a four-panelled door. To the right side of the house, there is a 20th-century two-storey extension made of yellow brick that includes a garage door. The rear elevation is finished in stucco and features one cambered door.
