Description
This is an early to mid-18th century terrace of three houses, numbers 6, 7, and 8, The Polygon, with alterations made in the 19th century. Each house is three storeys high, with a recessed basement, and features two windows. The construction is primarily stock brick, with a rendered frieze, cornice, and blocking course, though the cornice has been removed from number 6. The ground floor is stuccoed with incised lines. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars; those on the ground floors of numbers 6 and 7 are set in near-flush frames. The upper windows are arched with a cambered brick arch. The door surrounds have been altered, featuring radial fanlights of varying designs. The rear elevations reveal the early to mid-18th century origins more clearly, displaying many flush-framed windows under pronounced cambered arches. The roofs are pantiled and pitched. The buildings are listed partly due to their location on the edge of a common, providing a view towards Holy Trinity Church.
