Description

The tomb of William and Elizabeth Burges is located in West Norwood Memorial Park and dates from around 1855. It was designed by the architect William Burges for his mother, Elizabeth, who is buried there alongside him. The tomb is made of Portland stone and features a plain rectangular base with a coffin-shaped monument that has a pitched top adorned with a carved foliated cross. The tomb is recognized for its historic significance due to the fame of its architect.
