Description

This is a terrace of three mid-19th century, two-storey houses with basements, located on the west side of Grafton Square. The houses are constructed of stucco, with hipped slate roofs of a moderate pitch. Pilasters are present at the ends of the terrace and frame the entrance bays, supporting a plain frieze and resting on a ground floor band. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars; those on the first floor are within moulded architraves, while the ground floor windows are in flat surrounds with console bracketed cornices and pediments. The entrances consist of half-glazed four-panel doors, recessed behind modified entablature surrounds and accessed by six steps. Ornamental cast iron window guards are fitted to the ground floor windows. Number 1 has an entrance on its left return within a narrow, classically-ordered bay addition.
