Description
The bridge at St Michael's Hill, formerly known as Park Hill, was built around 1835, likely designed by J B Papworth. It features an elliptical brick arch supported by brick pilasters, topped with stone coping. The bridge has cast iron parapet railings that are approximately 2 feet high and 30 feet long. The railings are decorated with a series of paired semicircles connected by roundels, which are interrupted towards the ends by panels of diagonally crossed bars and finished with scrolls. The top rail includes a series of conical knobs. This bridge is part of a collection of garden buildings on the Park Hill estate.
