Description

This is a terrace of houses dating from around 1780. It was built using stock brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with stone parapets, slate roofs, and brick chimney stacks. The terrace comprises three storeys and originally had two windows in each property. Most windows on the second floor are eight-pane sashes, although number 11 has 20th-century casements. Windows at numbers 13, 15, 17, 19, 21 and 23 have been replaced with 19th-century six-pane sashes, featuring horns. The first floor has two tall, twelve-pane sashes, primarily with horns. The ground floors have three round-headed arches, supported by impost blocks; two contain six-pane sashes, and the other contains a doorway with a semi-circular fanlight. A fanlight with ogee glazing bars is above the door at number 3, which also has a six-panelled door. Number 19 retains a Regency-style three-panelled door, while number 25 has a seven-panelled door and original spear railings. Numbers 1 and 5 were originally part of the terrace, but were rebuilt in the 20th century and are not considered to be of special architectural or historic interest.
