Description

The Tomb of William Chappell is located in Kensall Green Cemetery and was designed by Owen Jones. This monument, made of grey Cornish granite, features a square block resting on a moulded base. Each side of the tomb ends in an arch that contains an incised cross, and it is adorned with Gothic lettering. William Chappell was a notable music publisher and historian, as referenced in A.W. Hakewill's book, "Modern Tombs, Gleaned from the Public Cemeteries of London," published in 1851.
