Description

The tomb of Lady Margaret Pulteney, who died in 1848, is located in Kensal Green Cemetery and was designed by C R Cockerell. It features a tall grave shaft made of Carrara marble, with a raised panel above the plinth. The arched terminal of the tomb contains an armorial lozenge or hatchment, which is set against a decorative background of acanthus leaves. This design is referenced in A W Hakewill's book, "Modern Tombs, Gleaned from the Public Cemeteries of London," published in 1851.
