Description
The Tomb of Henry Kendall, built in 1853, is located in Kensal Green Cemetery and was designed by H E Kendall, who created it in memory of his son. The tomb is made of Portland stone and features decorative Minton tiles. It includes a large Gothic headstone with a cross set within a lobed surround, and a seated angel with crossed arms positioned above a coped slab. The design incorporates trefoils that display emblems of masonry. H E Kendall, an architect, won a competition to design the cemetery in 1831, although his Gothic scheme was never constructed.
