Description
The tomb of General James Perry and Sir Patrick O'Brien is a Gothic mausoleum located in Kensal Green Cemetery, built around 1868 and altered around 1895. Constructed from various sandstones with Portland stone dressings and decoration, it features a gabled single cell structure with gabled ends topped with finials. The south elevation has a blocked arched door and a tympanum made of Carrara marble that depicts the Deposition, set within voussoirs of orange sandstone, below an heraldic relief. There are also blocked single arched windows on the east and west sides, while the north side showcases triple lancets and quatrefoil openings. The mausoleum was erected by the widow of General Perry in memory of her second husband, Sir Patrick O'Brien, who was an Irish Member of Parliament.
