Description
No. 24 Kensington Palace is a mansion built between 1845 and around 1849, designed by Owen Jones. The building is faced in stucco and features Indian style decorations. It has three storeys and is seven windows wide, with a skyline that is topped with onion domes and an open fretwork parapet. The ground floor has arched window openings with recessed frames and semi-circular heads. Above these are semi-vaults decorated with lotus leaf patterns that support a balcony on the first floor. The first floor windows are similar to those on the ground floor but smaller. The second floor features an arcade with alternating blind and glazed arches, and the chimneys are topped with ogee domes. The interior has not been seen.
